Tri-Delts Are Body Positive

I just watched this video and I had to share it with you.

Delta Delta Delta and key partners are raising the nation’s consciousness about the dangers of fat talk and the impact it has on women’s self-esteem and confidence.

Just. Totally. Awesome.

Click HERE to sign the pledge:

Today I promise to eliminate FAT TALK from
conversations with my friends, my family and myself.

Starting now, I will strive for a “healthy ideal,”
which I know looks different for every woman,
and focuses on HEALTH, not weight or size.

I will celebrate the things about myself
and the women in my life that have
nothing to do with how we look.

I decide to end Fat Talk NOW!

Read more about the Fat Talk Free Week. There is a lot of information on this website but I wanted to share quickly with you this brief description of what they are trying to accomplish:

The Program
What is Reflections: Body Image Program?

Put simply, the purpose of Reflections is to help sorority sisters establish and maintain a positive body image. Using highly interactive, peer-led, small groups, the sorority body image program is a two-day, intervention program designed by experts and implemented through trained peer leaders on college campuses throughout North America. As the first peer-led, evidence-based eating disorders prevention program shown to truly work, the program does not focus on eating disorders; rather, it emphasizes creating and reaffirming positive and healthy personal body image through a variety of structured discussions, activities, and exercises.

My thanks to Dr. Stacey NY for posting a link to this video.

Anyone know more about these folks? Have you met them yourself, or are your participating in one of their programs on a college campus? If you do, please share. I’m sure everyone here would love to know more about your experiences. I know I would! Thanks.
