Igigi Dress Review

I feel incredibly fortunate to know Wendy Bix. She is witty, beautiful, creative and inspiring. And, if I am smart, I make sure to board an airplane and get myself to the magical land of Wisconsin for the yearly conference she hosts/plans/organizes. She is a powerful women and so.

As in past years, those of us girls who are larger than a size 12 have the opportunity to receive an Igigi dress. In these pics I am wearing Sommer, in size 14/16. Since there is no standard sizing in women’s clothing lines I will share with you that I am 5’7″ and usually wear a 1X, or 16/18 in non-plus sizes.

I love the pattern, and I love the easy wearability of the soft stretchy fabric. I was a little nervous about the style because my boobs are rather generous (ok 42DDD), and I tend to spill out the top. I am thrilled that it fits in the front! I also really like the Shapestylist aspect of the Igigi website, which helps you figure out what size to order based on your measurements and body type. This was very helpful and as you can see, the dress fits like a dream. My one complaint is that it is a bit clingy in the back, but since I usually wear a body shaper under my clingy dresses it isn’t really an issue.

I do plan to have it shortened so that the hem rests just above my knee.

  1. This dress looks nice on you. My favorite dress for a night out is the Leigh Lace Dress in Black Iris. I think it’s gorgeous and would love to own it someday!

  2. Wow, I’m not usually a big fan of complicated patterns but the colors and pattern are gorgeous and it’s a great style. I would love one of the Riley or Doris dresses.

  3. That dress looks fabulous on you. I love the rich patterns of the dress. Igigi just knows how to make women look amazing. I’m in love with the bright colours in the dress Ivy. I think it would be an amazing dress for a friend’s wedding this summer!

  4. Thanks for the comments (and compliments!) and please remember that we are going to need a trackback to include you in the contest.

  5. Cute! I am really loving the Katie dress. I think it could work great for a night out, or even to work during the warmer months.

  6. Love the plum print…and the neckline. Very pretty, I love the Riley, it’s so fun retro casual.

  7. You are gorgeous! That dress was made for you, for sure. For me, I’d like the Callie dress for date night with Joe, or the Riley dress for work — but I’m also lusting after the Ishiko top in raspberry for everywhere.

  8. Work it! Work it!

I’m loving Igigi’s jewelry this season, and would totally get the Stassi Necklace in Mint. I’d wear it with jeans and a t-shirt and a jacket. With that necklace I’d be dressed up enough for just about anywhere.

  9. Ah! i like the length as it is, and with some light shade of tights and with those shoes (OMG THOSE SHOES ARE SO CUTE!!!), it would look so classy and retro, but I understand if you want to go shorter for a more modern look!

My pick: Aubriella dress, for karaoke night!

  10. Thanks everyone for your very nice comments.

@tona Those are my favorite pair of black pumps. They are classic yet sassy. And I am definitely getting that hem shortened ;)

  11. I love the pattern on this dress so much. You look beautiful, Corinna.

I want the Stella for our wedding vow renewal.

  12. I love that dress and I might just get one myself – I am falling for the igigi prints!! You look fabulous!

  13. I’m usually not a fan of paisley-esque prints but I really enjoy the color of this one!

I’ve got a hankering for the Rachelle Lace Dress in Black/Rouge! It’d go perfect with my hair for a birthday dinner! :)

  14. oof, that color! work it girl! i’m loving the Thalia Dress, would love to wear it out for a night on the town with friends!

  15. That dress looks fab on you!

I would wear the Versailles dress to a work conference where I have to be a little dressed up but want to be springy/summery, too!

  16. I desperately want the Sapphira dress (incidentally, isnt that a stunning name).
I like the way this looks on you, and the colour is gorgeous.
