Jamboree and Godless Heathen: It really is amazing to see how completely different people look in person than how they appear on TV. Lighting, wardrobe, makeup change a person’s hair, skin, weight, and even posture.

I happen to think that pregnant women are beautiful, and although its not the same as being fat, there is still a beauty stigma sometimes attached to pregnancy. Therefore, I think its important to embrace that too and I applaud Emma for doing it.

So THAT’S why she was on telly the other night! I walked through the living room to get something and saw her on there, talking about going through magazines searching for “diet talk” and when I heard the word “diet” I quickly left the room. Huh. Maybe I should have stayed and watched it.

ITA with Godless Heathen, though. A UK16/US12-14 isn’t exactly fat. I don’t know why the media make it sound like it’s SOOO freaking big, when it’s only barely above skinny.

I want that dress!

UK 16 is a US 14 I think, I don’t understand how people can think of that as a big size. To me it looks normal, and on most women it just looks unremarkable. Probably if the media had more actually fat women in it, we might stop hearing about celebrities starving themselves to get below the dreaded size 8!

Also, I agree, ill fitting clothing is usually the culprit in celebrity “weight gain”. You’d think the wardrobe department could take a few measurements once they knew they’d be working with someone for a while.

I actually ‘met’ Natalie Cassidy in a sandwich place a few years ago. I kept glancing over at her, thinking, “I know her… HOW do I know her..?” but when it clicked, I was too embarrassed to say anything to her. Heh. Anyway, I was surprised at how small she actually is in person. They really costumed her badly on EE, giving her ill-fitting clothing and too-small clothing to wear. I don’t think she had to lose weight at all, and in that beach photo she looks a bit peaky.
