Over here it's presented by a guy called Gok Wan who is gay* and wonderfully exuberant in his praise for the bodies of all the women featured, and has brought about some pretty amazing changes in the way the women feel about their bodies without asking them to lose a single pound. I don't know the format of the US show, but in the UK one it starts with asking the woman to stand in a room of mirrors wearing her underwear. This is usually pretty painful to watch, but by the end of the show they are generally strutting down a catwalk in saucy lingerie, feeling every bit as beautiful as they always were.
